Leadership isn't about being at the head of the table

Leadership didn’t start for me in a boardroom.
It started the day I realized that the rooms I was walking into weren’t built for me or for the people I loved most.

Every invitation came with invisible fine print: shrink a little, quiet down, don’t make anyone uncomfortable. After a while, I stopped waiting to be invited.

I built my own table.
